Ryzen 2700X | rx 590 |.Assembled the trotten underframe and positioned it on the desk top. Figured out where the frame needed to be positioned so that the sit/stand mechanism was accessible. Marked all the hole locations (12 in total. 8 for the legs and 4 for the brackets that support the crank handle) Drilled all of the holes to a depth of 3/8" using a 7/64 drill bit.Don't ever get the top wet, water spills etc. If it penetrates, it will develop unsightly bubbles on the surface. The center will sag over time. This is from use as a table with a full tower desktop on it over several years. On the plus side, it survived years so yes, you could say it's durable. I’ve even clamped heavy monitors to the old linnmon (cardboard) desks just fine. The only time I’ve had trouble was with grommet mounting on a linnmon and even that was easy to brace with a carefully styled ...it's from their site. Also, The frame is 115 cm while the top is 120, so it will be shorter by 2.5 cm on each side, I think it is enough to fit the frame into the particle board edges of the Lagkapten. 115 cm ≈ 508.10763 potrzebie. 2.5 cm ≈ 0.00497 rods. The table top has plastic parts that accept the bolts, there are specifically aligned holes for the crank holder to be drilled into. I tried it and it did not work out and now I will be driving back to Ikea and getting the TROTTEN top.

From IKEA website about IDÅSEN has "honeycomb paper filling" so if TROTTEN frame attachment points are too different from IDÅSEN, you may drill into a hollow part and the tabletop won't hold well. I believe honeycomb paper filling is only present for IDÅSEN 120cm & 160cm tops.

I use it for my machines only (in spite of originally planning to also use it for cutting). On the manual-adjust version it's quite involved to change the height, and so I don't think that it works realistically as a sit stand.I went to replace it with the larger one, but SKARSTA is discontinued.
