Description of the Device and its Functions

MobileScan®  is the only device on the market to display all relevant diagnostic animal data including import/export from/to herd management and practical animal identification.

This means that one person now can work alone in the stable. The animals are electronically identified (or Stable No. via touch screen), opening the data set imported from the herd management for the respective animal.

When diagnosing condition, the weight can be automatically captured or entered via touch screen; the ultrasound screen opens and the back fat thickness value is assessed using the measurement function. All data are attributed to the respective animal and are ready for export to herd management. The entire process takes about 1 minute per animal.

The software features an interface to DSP's HERDE herd management software, enabling comprehensive evaluation of the gathered measurement data regarding back fat thickness, BCS and weight, taking into account the milk production check results.

The quick scan function allows for the back fat thickness assessment of groups of animals (without identification of individual animals). An average value is calculated for the respective group of animals following conclusion of data collection that can be saved or printed.

Vets benefit from the additional option of ultrasound-based pregnancy examination also for pigs, sheep and goats. Further gynaecological results, e.g. regarding uterine health, are easily assignable based on the integrated relevant ADIS key (cattle).

Conspicuous animals can be marked at the tip of a finger including related comment for further treatments. A relevant list is readily available for printing.

Audio commentaries can be added for every animal; the most recent one for each individual can be played (via headset) following identification of the animal.

Proof of administered drugs is possible via text blocks previously formulated by the user in the input screen.

The scope of functions is complemented by comprehensive evaluation options via the integrated veterinary livestock care (ITB) and breeding management system (ZMS) programmes in DSP's HERDE software.

The Technology:

The device features a fanless 12" touch screen computer, an integrated ultrasound unit and an RFID reader unit for electronic animal identification, all controlled by a largely intuitive software.

The device was specifically developed for the rough conditions in livestock stables and can be damp-cleaned and disinfected.

It excels with its moderate weight, easy operation and is comfortable to wear. The computer runs on Win7/10, has integrated Wi-Fi and Bluetooth as well as a USB port. The SSD storage capacity is 256 GB.

The premium ultrasound technology is equipped with exchangeable electronic 128-crystal scanners and with its wide range of settings can be used for all relevant livestock examinations.

Post-processing image improvement software is additionally available to order (included in the premium version).

The inbuilt battery provides about 4 hours of non-stop operation; the additional battery provides another 4 hours.
