The figher/archer thralls will be good for exploring, and adventuring. (And getting NEW thralls). Animals on the other hand (even hyena/crocs etc) are great early game for gathering. They don't have an encumberance limit and have more INV spaces than thralls.With foundations you dont need the ground to be as flat as you might think at first. You can raise and lower them when placing. Place the first one as high as you can and build your first layer off that.
