Parked it for the summer. Started it up this weekend and the inside controls are completely dead. I have completed all 5 items on the Relay test listed in the Western Plow maintenance guide (see photo). If the solenoid is only a 3 post, then more then likely it is grounded through the case which in your case won't really work, unless you mount it on plastic. If I jumper the two main solenoid terminals I can hear the plow motor run and the plow will work again for a very short time. I have already replaced the solenoid and it worked good for about 2 weeks. Now, a few things could make your motor keep running or stay on. 1) an open ground, 2) a short in the controlled harness somewhere, 3) your controller shorted out, 4) solenoid bad.
